How To Setup A Self-Hosted Wordpress Blog by Dare

Hi, My name is Dare and am a co-blogger with Wale the founder of this Tech Blog. Today i will showing you simple steps on creating your own self-hosted blog(Wordpress) but you can register for a Hosted Version at Wordpress.com.

Step 1:
We need a domain name first, I registered with www.co.cc cause they offer free domain names and at top levels no xtra charges! Visit www.co.cc to get started!(See example below)

Step 2:
After you are done registering for www.co.cc it will ask to set up the domain now but leave it dont make any changes yet we still got one more account to head for thats 0000free.com, they will be the one to host it for us and they work well with co.cc unlike other Free Web Hosting Sites.

Start registering by choosing either the basic option or Advanced option,
Basic Option will give 1gb disk space,10gb monthly traffic,10 email accounts, 3 MySql database and many more
Advanced Option will give you 5gb disk spave, 100gb monthly traffic, 20 email accounts, 15 mysql database, and many more(To have this you will have to give out 20 post to thier forum before it get activated and 20 forum post monthly)........Its your choice..............

Step 3:
When you are done registering you receive a email that includes address to your Cpanel

Step 4:
Update your nameservers you will have to go back to www.co.cc for the final touch
1. choose Name Record and add this
NS1-APEX.0SITES.ORG
NS2-APEX.0SITES.ORG
Wait for just 24hrs to get the servers and distributed on the web!

Step 5:
Log in to your Cpanel with the username and password you submitted while registering
and look for Fantastico De Luxe/Fantastic(A automatic script installer)

Choose the wordpress setup since thats what we to install so click it and you will be instructed on installing it........ thats it your wordpress is ready..............
