One of those many features is the "facebook smiley". This may sound strange to many who have never used yahoo messanger before. Well let me briefly tell you what a smiley is and how it works. According to Wikipedia, "A smiley, or happy face, (☺/☻) is a stylized representation of a smiling human face. It is commonly represented as a yellow (many other colors are also used) circle (or sphere) with two black dots representing eyes and a black arc representing the mouth. “Smiley” is also sometimes used as a generic term for any emoticon."
I think you now know what smileys are. Smileys or emoticons are used to make a message clearer or to express fellings. If you are a good yahoo messanger user in those days, before the advent of facebook,you will be very familiar with what smileys are. well, I think that is a technology in computer that I appreciate. Facebook has it's own default smiley codes which you can use by typing the correct codes. You can use these codes in many ways:
1. While chatting: Type or copy the code, leave a space, then type your message and press enter.
The code will automatically change into a graphical emoticon.

Note: that you must always leave a space between your smiley or emoticon code and your message in order for it to appear.
